This is honestly one of my favorite paintings ever. I just absolutely love the start of fall, and this painting is based on a photo I took in my front yard in Austin a couple of years ago. At the end of an incredibly long, hot summer, I was so glad to find this one seemingly random orange leaf lying alone on the lawn–a sign of hope that it wouldn't be 100 degrees forever. I remember lying on my belly in the grass to get just the right shot.
This 9x9 acrylic piece is unframed, and includes a small unpainted margin where masking tape hold the paper while I painted.
