This 5x7 postcard-sized gouache piece features a male skateboarder catching air in black Vans and a grey hoodie. I dig the cast that the yellow underpainting provided, I pick up California vibes from those yellow edges around the skater.
My favorite part of this painting is the sole is his shoe! The painting is 7x5in and vertical/portrait orientation.
It includes a small unpainted margin where masking tape held the paper while I painted.
I received a request in 2022 to recreate this painting at a larger size, and I made an acrylic reproduction for the collector who requested it - but I still have the original here for sale.
