My outdoorsy uncle knew that I'd been painting, and he told my mom that I should paint "fish". This wasn't quite what he meant, but it's fish nonetheless. I was drawn to this fish's bright colors and strange eyes.
What type of fish is this, you might ask? It's actually a goldfish with a condition known as Popeye disease. It was a challenge to capture the metallic, translucent eyes, the scales and the underwater blur of this little guy. I love how it turned out, and viewers tend to agree... it got a lot of attention when I displayed it at an art show, due it's the bright colors and realism.
This 18x24in acrylic piece is unframed and includes a small unpainted margin where masking tape hold the paper while I painted. That edge is rough in some spots, so you'll definitely want to frame it.
