Saguaro Cactus - Original 14x11in Acrylic Painting

This painting is based on a photo I took in Saguaro National Park in 2017. I was in Tucson for business, and I didn't realize it was home to a park that draws over a million visitors every year! A colleague happened to have a National Park Pass, and told us about the park. We headed out there when our meetings ended, hoping we'd make it in before the entrance closed. We made it just in time to watch a beautiful orange sunset against the purple mountains. It was incredibly memory, and one that I feel like to have been able to capture here.

I love the smooth gradient of the sky and the warm light of the sunset on the rough texture of the Saguaro cactus.

When I was a kid, my elementary classes would submit artwork to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and I'd always draw the classic symbol of the west - a Saguaro cactus. It was neat to capture this image as an adult.

The painting wraps around all edges, so it can be hung unframed or framed, depending on your preferences.
